Sun / Laszlo Project “Orbit” | OpenLaszlo: “Sun / Laszlo Project ‘Orbit’
What is Project ‘Orbit’?
Sun Microsystems and Laszlo Systems, Inc, have announced that they will be working together to enable OpenLaszlo applications to run on devices supporting the Java Platform, Micro Edition (Java ME) application platform. With this move, Sun and Laszlo are actively contributing resources to a new project for the OpenLaszlo community, code-named Orbit.
Java Platform, Micro Edition (Java ME) is the most ubiquitous application platform for embedded devices in the world, with more than 3.8 billion Java devices including 1.2 billion Java technology-powered phones. It provides a robust, flexible environment for applications running on a broad range of devices, such as mobile phones, PDAs, TV set-top boxes, and printers. Applications based on Java ME specifications are written once for a wide range of devices, yet exploit each device’s native capabilities. For more information, visit https://java.sun.com/javame/index.jsp.
OpenLaszlo is a widely adopted open source application development platform that uses Ajax-style programming techniques, integrating XML and JavaScript, to create rich and robust online experiences. With Orbit, Sun and Laszlo will work together to connect OpenLaszlo’s expressive markup language, LZX, with the ubiquity and power of the Java ME platform.

the final round
I cannot wait for the N93, the final round for the successor of my glorious 6630 will be an E60 or an E70.
No sense a Window$ Mobile phone, no to the P990i: too big also for me, I’m still a big fun of Nokia and I wanna try the new Symbian 9.1.
I wanna have an UMTS phone with Wifi, fast and not huge.
The E60 doesn’t have the camera but looks better than the E70. The E70 has the camera but I’ve to check “live” the Querty Keyboard…
Some links from the good website gsmarena: E70 and E60.
Lagavulin Single Malt
I’m not a whisky expert, but this one is my favourite and since I always forget the name, especially after some beers… I blog it
Lagavulin Single Malt – Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Lagavulin Single Malt is a scotch whisky, one of three distilled on the south half of the Scottish Island of Islay. It is characterised by its strong peat flavour and iodine overtones. The iodine flavour tends to divide tasters into love it or hate it groups with no middle ground, and it may not be suitable for new Scotch drinkers. Among the three distilleries in the area (see below for list) it is the least peaty. The standard Lagavulin single malt is 16 years old (43%), though they have also released a 12 year old cask strength variety, Distiller’s edition, finished in Pedro-Ximenez casks as well as a 25 year old variety.
Lagavulin is produced by White Horse Distillers which is owned by United Distillers & Vintners which in turn is owned by Diageo plc. Lagavulin was chosen to represent Islay Single Malts in UDV’s Classic Malts of Scotland.
It is pronounced “La-ga-VOO-lin”.
blog, refactored
Having more time for the low priority To Dos during the holidays finally I’ve changed a bit the blog. The title is simply toniBlog cos I’m bugged to change it every 3-6 months depending on where I am and Valter is no more an active poster, so no one is posting from Turin!
The layout is changed to this one, more clean and very nice, very fashion actually, looks like this is the new trend for the 2007 for blogs, so here I am
.
I’ve deleted many unused categories and the objective for the next year is to write more and with an higher quality… We’ll see…
Have a nice reading,
